MALVERN, PA. & AUSTIN, TX. – April 7, 2014 – Merit Service Solutions (Merit), a national leader in facilities maintenance, announced today its acquisition of SunTerra Landscape Services.

Merit was previously known as Lipinski Services. Although Merit contracts for services in many areas of the country, this acquisition represents the first expansion of its self-performed business beyond the Northeastern United States.

Merit is a portfolio company of L2 Capital Partners, a private equity family office based in Radnor, Pennsylvania.

Merit Service Solutions is a performance-driven exterior maintenance provider committed to offering results that add real value creating safe, attractive and efficient commercial properties. The company offers a broad range of exterior facilities services, from landscape and parking lot maintenance services to snow and ice management services to capital improvements and enhancements.

SunTerra Landscape Services is a privately owned company that delivers landscape maintenance services to more than 400 commercial properties throughout the state of Texas.

“We are excited about our partnership with Merit Service Solutions,” said Judy McNew, Chief Operating Officer of SunTerra Landscape Services. “This combination will truly benefit our current and future clients, giving them access to the depth and breadth of Merit’s landscape expertise, the proprietary ‘I-merit’ powered by Oracle operating platform, and significant financial resources.”

“Adding SunTerra’s talented team to Merit immediately expands possibilities for our customers and associates,” said Vince Willis, Chairman of Merit Service Solutions. “SunTerra’s high standards, unmatched excellence in landscape services and local market presence throughout the state will enhance the customer experience for Merit’s existing Texas clients.”
As the transition occurs, the current management at SunTerra will remain in place, expanding as needed to accommodate new clientele.

“The driving factor in our decision to make this acquisition was the passion of the existing SunTerra management team to continue building an outstanding company and to stay intact, thus assuring a seamless continuity of business,” added Willis. “By joining Merit, SunTerra now has access to our extensive resources and proprietary I-merit operating platform that will enhance visibility of service and drive efficiency for SunTerra’s customers.”
