BrightView Holdings, Inc., the parent company of BrightView Landscapes, LLC, filed a Registration Statement on Form S-1 on May 30, 2018 in connection with a potential public offering of its common stock.  This is rthe beginning of the registration process and there is no timetable for the completion of a public offering. Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC and J.P. Morgan Securities LLC  are the lead underwriters. According to the registration statement, KKR & Co and its affiliated funds own 75.8% of BrightView’s stock while MSD Capital and its affiliated funds hold 17.7%. BrightView Landscapes has completed a series of acquisitions in 2018 in addition to its recently announced acquisition of The Groundkeeper, according to a report in Landscape Management. BrightView acquired Precision Landscape Management in Dallas in January and Cleary Brothers in Northern California in February following their acquisition of Willamette Landscape Maintenance in Oregon in December and Urban Tree Care in Los Angeles in September.  BrightView also previously announced the acquisition of Girard Environmental in Florida in September. Plantscapes, Inc of Seattle, Washington, a commercial landscapes maintenance company, has purchased the accounts, assets and employees of Greenleaf Landscaping Group LLC., Tacoma Washington, also a commercial maintenance organization.  According to Terry Posner, Plantscapes president & CEO,  the acquisition establishes a satellite in the south region of Puget Sound allowing Plantscapes to better serve this area.   In addition, Plantscapes has acquired the accounts and assets of Complete Yard Services of Everett, Washington which will be merged into Plantscapes North Satellite, also located in Everett.   In both cases, Greenleaf and CYS the owners are retiring and sought out Plantscapes as a buyer with … Read more
