Brickman Acquires Seattle’s Northwestern Landscape Company

(Puyallup, WA) Brickman continued its expansion into the Pacific Northwest with the acquisition of Puyallup-based Northwestern Landscape Company (NWLC). The company has three offices in the Puget Sound and two in the Portland, Oregon market. Brickman acquired Portland-based Northwest Landscape Services earlier this summer. This recent acquisition positions Brickman to serve virtually the entire Pacific Northwest.

With branches in Redmond, Renton, Puyallup and Vancouver, NWLC is one of the largest local landscape firms and is consistently ranked among the largest firms in the country. One of the nation’s leading commercial landscape management firms, Gaithersburg, Maryland-based Brickman now serves local, regional and national clients in 27 states, with over 145 company-owned branch offices.

“Our ability to join forces with the area’s leading company is ideal. The leadership team Northwestern has developed will allow us to expand our ability to serve new and existing customers in these important additional markets,” states Sr. V.P. Mike Bogan.

Former owner of NWLC Jonathan Bartels will serve as Brickman’s regional manager in Washington. Bartels founded Northwestern Landscape Company with a mission to provide the highest level of quality and customer service, thereby ensuring a successful future for his employees. Partnering with the like-minded Brickman organization will provide expanded resources for his team’s continued success in fulfilling that mission.

“I am delighted to partner with Brickman as they enter the Pacific Northwest, while providing tremendous opportunity to my team members and customers alike,” comments Bartels. “Brickman’s unique focus on their employees drives unparalleled service to its clients, and is consistent with the way that we have always operated our business.”

“We are excited to join forces with Northwestern, for the benefit of the clients, the employees, and the community,” says Brickman President and CEO, Scott Brickman. “Our two organizations are closely matched in culture, values and characteristics and I look forward to our continued success as we grow throughout the Pacific Northwest.”

Both teams have always valued building relationships and working in close partnership with clients to achieve and surpass their expectations. Joining forces will enable them to continue pursuing the mission of providing the highest quality service to clients.
