Davey Tree Acquires LandKeepers of Woodstock, Illinois

Kent, Ohio — The Davey Tree Expert Company has acquired LandKeepers, LLC, of Woodstock, Ill., and will integrate its services into its Davey Resource Group Chicago operations.

Specializing in the preservation and stewardship of natural areas and high-quality habitats,

LandKeepers is a full-service land and property management company. It provides these services to homeowner associations, developers and property owners throughout the greater Chicago area.

Jack Porter founded LandKeepers in 2007 and said he is excited that his clients will benefit from Davey’s resources, including its workforce, equipment, and technical capabilities. “While our logo and name may change, our emphasis on providing stewardship, resource management and exceptional service remains the same,” he said.

According to DRG’s Natural Resources Consulting Manager Karen Wise, LandKeepers’ six existing staff and one additional strategic new hire includes Porter as the Coordinator for the new Natural Resources Consulting Chicago team. Wise said the addition of the LandKeepers team will help expand Davey’s physical presence in Chicago.

In the greater Chicago metro region, Davey Tree has more than 300 employees, 12 local tree and lawn care offices and multiple utility line clearance and vegetation management accounts, Wise explained. “This network will help the natural resource consulting business team grow in Chicago by providing immediate name recognition, human and physical resources and business leads and referrals,” she said.

“It also provides a physical presence in an otherwise new geography/marketplace and allows us to expand our traditional natural resource consulting service offerings to include property management and land stewardship,” Wise continued. “The LandKeepers acquisition is a perfect fit for Davey and the natural resource consulting team in that it allows us to experience continued growth and expansion.”

In fact, this acquisition is Davey’s fourteenth in the past five years and is part of a larger growth and expansion strategy.
