Florac Invests in Sperber Landscape Companies

Florac, a French family office private equity firm, has made a minority investment in Sperber Landscape Companies (“SLC”).

Florac is an investment vehicle wholly owned by the Meyer family and whose purpose is to exclusively invest the family’s funds.  The Meyer family is a branch of the Louis-Dreyfus family

SLC is an emerging commercial landscaping services provider serving clients throughout the United States. Primarily providing maintenance services, SLC will additionally offer design assistance and turnkey installation solutions for select commercial projects. SLC is led by Richard Sperber, the former Chairman and CEO of ValleyCrest Companies.

In early 2019, Sperber was seeking like-minded equity partners to help him build the early team and identify and diligence prime acquisition targets to rapidly scale the business from the outset. When the business launched in April 2019, it was already working on multiple large-scale installation projects and had ample equity financing to execute on its first strategic tuck-in, which was completed shortly after launch.

With its pedigree and strong operational acumen, SLC is viewed as an exceptional partner to both clients and acquisition targets alike. Before the company was formally announced, SLC had already built an impressive book of high-profile business. The M&A pipeline is deep and full of trusted brands led by owner-operators that are eager to join the growing SLC platform.

Going forward, SLC plans to continue growing both organically and through M&A, and to ultimately create a leading commercial landscaping player with a culture where employees and clients feel valued and receive best-in-class service that is backed by unmatched experience and talent.
