In an interesting international development, Universal Engeisha Group, a large Japanese horticultural company, has acquired Rolling Greens Inc, a D.C. area 40-year-old interior and exterior landscape firm, with approximately $5 million in revenues.  Based in Clinton, Maryland, Rolling Greens serves the Maryland, Virginia and D.C. area.

Rolling GreensThe following announcement was posted to Rolling Greens Facebook page:

“Paul Levy and Teddi Marshall are pleased to announce that Rolling Greens, Inc., celebrating its 40th year in business, has been acquired by Universal Engeisha Group (UNG), one of Japan’s largest horticultural enterprises.    The transition began May 1, 20115, when Mr. Takumi Morisaka assumed the role of President of Rolling Greens, Inc. With offices, nurseries, garden centers, and plant boutiques in Osaka, Tokyo and Shanghai, Rolling Greens has become UNG’s first venture into North America.  All staff and facilities will be retained as the new ownership becomes familiar with the U.S.market.

Teddi and Paul will act as consultants through the transition period, then plan on enjoying the next phase of their lives. We are grateful to have spent 40 years doing what we loved.  Working with plants, an outstanding dedicated staff and sharing wonderful, lifelong friendships, has been a dream career.  We have been and will continue to be appreciative of the opportunity.”
