Nurture Landscapes Acquires Grace Landscapes in the U.K.

Nurture LandscapesNurture Landscapes has continued its expansion as it acquires landscape and ground maintenance firm, Grace Landscapes. This comes after acquiring Gavin Jones back in February.

Grace Landscapes was founded 39 years ago and has annual sales in excess of £6m, providing grounds maintenance and landscape construction across the north with its 116 members of staff.

When asked how the acquisition came about, managing director Peter Fane said:
“I’ve known the owners Tim Grace and Hugh Pawsey and have greatly admired their business for years – they’re very much the Gavin Jones of the north. The company is full of great people and delivers exceptional quality work, evident in their 17 BALI Awards.

“When Tim called me saying he was looking to retire and asked if Nurture would be interested in acquiring the business, I was on a plane to see him within 24 hours. Around 10 days later we had come to a deal.”

Grace Landscapes’ major depot office in Yorkshire shall be kept, as will almost the entirety of the staff. The company will continue to trade under its name until the end of 2018 when it will be rebranded to Nurture Landscapes in January.

Speaking his mind on the deal, Tim Grace told Pro Landscaper:
“We’ve now completed the deal and we are now part of the Nurture family, which we’re delighted about. It couldn’t be any more perfect, it’s absolutely where we want to be. We feel like we’re joining a family and we’ve worked alongside these people from the start. I think it’s an absolutely perfect fitting – it couldn’t any be any better.”

Expansion plans are a key focus for Nurture Landscapes at present as Peter continues:
“Grace Landscapes doesn’t currently offer winter gritting which is something we shall implement along with further expansion measures to the company. Nurture is always on the look out to expand our coverage when the right business opportunity comes along.

Further expansion
“We have a signed head of agreement for another company with sales in excess of £4m which should be acquired by the end of November. This business is one we have known for some time and we are very excited about this as well.”
