Brickman Acquires Florida’s Stiles Landscaping
Gaithersburg, MD – The Brickman Group, Ltd., announced today that they have signed an agreement to purchase Stiles Landscape Company, currently a division of Stiles Corporation. The sale is set to close by the end of May.

Brickman is a national commercial landscape services firm, with a large presence in Florida. Stiles Corporation, a full service commercial real estate development firm, is headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale. They are at the forefront of the commercial real estate industry in Florida and throughout the Southeast. Among the Company’s offerings are architectural design, development, construction and JCCAYER tools, property management and landscape services.

The two companies are closely aligned in their values, structure and operations, and the timing was right to join forces. The transaction will allow Stiles Corporation to focus on its core real estate development services, and will enable Brickman to substantially expand its presence in the Florida marketplace.

“The Stiles name and reputation is one of quality and service,” says CEO, Scott Brickman. “From our initial meeting with Terry Stiles and Don Winsett, it was very evident that they have created a culture very similar to Brickman’s. Terry Stiles has built an organization with a great culture that truly values every team member and these shared values are why I am so excited about our two companies uniting We are all looking forward to welcoming their talented team into our organization.”

“We decided to sell to Brickman because we share similar corporate principles and we know that all of our employees and clients will be well taken care of into the future,” explained Doug Eagon, president of Stiles Corporation. “Stiles Corporation just celebrated its 57th year as an entrepreneurial, family-owned corporation. In looking to the next 20 years and continued growth, it is critical that our energy, resources and capital investments have a razor sharp focus on our core real estate development and investment strategies.”

Stiles started the Landscape Division of Stiles Corporation 25 years ago with the intent to ensure the vision of quality on the sites they developed would continue in every aspect of the property. Since then, Stiles Landscaping has grown to become a respected and admired leader in the Florida real estate market, with locations in Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Tampa, Ft. Myers and Orlando.

A privately held, family run business, Brickman serves over 10,000 commercial clients in 28 states, featuring award-winning maintenance, landscape architecture and construction services. With over150 branch offices nationwide, Brickman’s strength is in its branch structure, sharing resources, knowledge and best practices, ensuring clients experience consistent quality and service locally and nationally.

Don Winsett, President of Stiles Landscaping, together with his leadership team and staff, will join Brickman’s Florida Division and continue to operate the business under the Brickman name. The transition has been designed so that day-to-day operations and client service will not be compromised in any way. The changeover to Brickman equipment colors, logos, and employee uniforms will take place throughout the 2008 season. And clients can expect the same great quality and service they have come to expect from their service teams.

“While we are extremely proud of the Stiles Landscape division’s reputation and success and we will deeply miss working alongside our colleagues at Stiles Corporation, my team is excited about the opportunity to join Brickman and benefit from its expertise and focus on the landscaping industry,” said Don Winsett, President of Stiles Landscape Division.

“We know that Stiles Landscape division’s success is based on the dedication of its many tenured team members and outstanding leaders and our goal is only to enhance the excellent service and value their customers have come to enjoy,” says Brian Moore, Brickman’s Divisional Vice President in the South. “We are thrilled that they will become part of our team.”
