SBA May Hit Lending Cap

SBAAccording to published reports, the SBA lending program is likely to reach its lending cap of $18.75 million by the end of July.  If that happens, on new SBA loans can be approved until the federal fiscal year begins anew on October 1, 2015.

This phenomenon is partly due to the robust business for sale market.

It seems there is little dissent in Congress from expanding the lending limit, it that doesn’t mean it will be neat and pretty.  It is only days until the summer congressional recess begins.  If the cap is hit, the SBA will likely establish a system to create a queue of loan applications to be approved when the cap is increased or the new year begins October 1, whichever comes first.
