The Davey Tree Expert Company has aacquired the business and certain assets of Wickes/arborists in Spring Valley in Rockland County, New York. For 90 years, Wickes has provided residential and commercial tree services, plant health care and lawn care in Rockland County, New York. A Cut Above Landscaping Acquires Jake’s Lawn Care and Jakes Garden Center in Watertown, NY

Justin Chesbrough, owner of A Cut Above Landscaping, Lawn Care & Snowplowing in Watetown, NY, has acquired Jake’s Lawn Care and Jake’s Garden Center, also in Watertown.  Details of the transaction have not been announced. Jacob S. “Jake” Johnson established Jake’s Lawn Care  15 years ago.  Jake’s Garden Center was added in 2016. Following the sale, Johnson is focusing on real estate investment. A Cut Above Landscaping has been serving the area since 2008. The transactiion closed in March 2020.  Details have not been disclosed.

Montage Partners Acquires United Right of Way Vegetation Management

Montage Partners has invested in URW, LLC, dba United Right-of-Way (“URW”), a provider of comprehensive vegetation and landscape management services to government agencies, solar energy operators, railroads, and industrial companies. Montage Partners is a private equity firm based in Scottsdale, Arizona. There have been a number of private equity investments in vegetation management companies over the past year in other regions.
