TruGreen Lawncare has acquired Lawn Dawg, a Nashua, New Hampshire based lawn care company with eleven locations in New England and New York. Started in 1997 by industry veteran Jim Campanella, Brighton Partners acquired majority control in 2009.
TruGreen also has acquired the business of TurfMasters LLC in Connecticut, another large New England lawn care business. TurfMasters LLC is not affiliated with other businesses with similar names in other parts of the U.S.
We estimate that on a combined basis, these two acquisitions will add more than $25 million to TruGreen’s revenue base.
TruGreen is the largest lawn care company in the United States. Last year, TruGreen completed a merger with industry number two Scotts LawnService. After a pause to complete that merger and focus in integrating operations, TruGreen has returned to an aggressive acquisition program. TruGreen was spun-off from ServiceMaster in 2014 and is controlled by private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice.
