Scooter’s Lawn Care, a full-spectrum lawn and landscaping company, has acquired Lawn Perks, effective Sept. 1. Lawn Perks, based in Chatham, also provides both residential and commercial services.
Jacob Godar, owner of Scooter’s Lawn Care, headquartered in Springfield, said the acquisition will allow the company to do “even more of what we were already doing.” Godar said his business has focused primarily on landscaping design and installation, while Lawn Perks concentrated more on mowing and spraying. “We’re excited to take on all of these new customers and help them with more services,” said Godar.
“Throughout this process, we’ve gotten to know Larry (Perko, owner of Lawn Perks) and his team very well, and we are honored to continue his legacy of incredible client care as we move forward,” he said.
Godar originally began Scooter’s Lawn Care as a part-time venture in spring 2014. The following year, he quit his day job in the auto body field to focus on the new business full time. The acquisition of Lawn Perks will mean additional growth, as Godar said he anticipates bringing 8-10 of the existing employees on board. He was recognized as one of Springfield Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 in 2019.
